The Bookish Snob Tag!!! | My First Time Being Tagged!

Ciao, people, Ciao! So I’m overly happy and excited today, why, you may ask? Ah, let me help you. Because (drumroll, please!) I GOT TAGGED FOR THE FIRST TIME IN A BOOK TAG! Woohoo!

The tag is THE BOOKISH SNOB TAG! I was tagged by Riddhi @whisperingstories—Thanks, girl! You’re a peach!—Check. Her. Blog. Out, People! She’s really awesome! Oh, and she’s my bookish twin too, You’ll definitely and absolutely love her blog!

Lets begin, SHALL WE?

  • ADAPTATION SNOB: Do you always read the book before watching the film/ TV show?

Mostly? Nahhh. The thing is the books have ruined me so much that I can’t watch anything anymore, there’d be a movie or show going on and I would be lost in some other fictional world of some book simultaneously, or I’d be wondering if the thing is based on a book, or would be imagining the dialogues and feelings of the characters in words of a book(by now, you may have gotten a hint as to why my blog has the word crazy in it). So yeah, no. No adaptations. I guess, the only movie which I’ve ever watched which is based on a book I’ve never read would be The Perfect Date, can’t find the book, lah!

  • FORMAT SNOBYou can only choose 1 format in which to read books for the rest of your life. Which one do you choose: physical books, eBooks, or audiobooks?

Not really sure! It’d have to depend on the situation. Like, if the device is acting up, definitely a physical book but then again, eBooks are more convenient and easy to carry and there are times where I suffer through forced labour(moms could be cruel!) when I’d kill for an audiobook. Though, for a definite answer, I’d go with a physical book, they have a certain smell about them!(and if people see you with a book, they don’t disturb you, not the case with eBooks or audiobooks)

  • SHIP SNOB: Would you date or marry a non-reader?

Gah. I don’t know! I guess it would depend on the person, though I believe I’d be a little partial to a reader(non-fiction not included, sorry not sorry).

  • GENRE SNOB: You have to ditch one genre – never to be read again for the rest of your life. Which one do you ditch?

Non fiction, non fiction, definitely non-fiction! I don’t have anything against them, I just can’t read them!*dramatically shrugging*

  • UBER GENRE SNOB: You can only choose to read from one genre for the rest of your life. Which genre do you choose?

Young adult! I luuurv young adult books! They are just sweet and depressing(both attributes don’t really go together, do they?).

  • COMMUNITY SNOB: Which genre do you think receives the most snobbery from the bookish community?

Romance. People should know there are happy romances, sad and depressing ones and tragedies. Happy romances are funny people, they remind you of summer! Sad and depressing ones are thoughtful! And tragedies are beautiful! See the variety? How can you hate Romance, I don’t understand. Please don’t judge romances, they’re kinda essential!*puppy dog eyes*

Ah, here’s the part where I give my apologies. I’m sorry. Spiacente. Je suis desole(there’s an accent to be added here but I cant find it, so again I’m sorry, you’d have to make do with that only).

Here’s the thing—I’m new to the business! I don’t know that many people here nor the way this works(I was Googling a few minutes back how to tag/ pingback a person, still not sure!) So I’m not really gonna tag someone specific, I’m gonna tag YOU! Uh-huh, I tag every person who stumbled on my blog here! Hope you enjoy answering the questions!

Ahh, and please, please, pretty please, let me know your answers! You could comment me those, or you could provide me with the link of the post? Whichever you prefer! Looking forward to all your answers!

Thank you, you guys! Now, I may ask to be excused. We’ll meet again soon!

  1. Wow, that was fast!! Anyhow, I really enjoyed reading your answers!! Also, The Perfect Date is based on a book?? Are all Netflix Originals based on books?!?!?!! Also, the similarity between our answers is alarming!😂😂

    1. Thank you, thank you! My speed is blushing right now, he he😆
Yeah, The Perfect Date is based on this book, The Stand-In by Steve Bloom. Also, I too think that most of Netflix originals are based on books, to be honest half of Hollywood seems to be adaptations of books!
The similarity—too alarming, do we need to call ambulance?😂

    1. hehe. Thank you, thank you, I’m very much flattered, in fact I’m afraid my pride has passed the peak and is currently in space, you never know!🤷🏻‍♀️
Seriously though, I’m very glad you liked it! Hope you enjoy my other posts too!

  2. That was super fast, I agree with Nehal and Riddhi- I need to learn to not let tags drag on ahhh 😂

Oh my same! I hardly watch movie adaptations… I’ll be so mad if they leave out a favourite scene, even if it’s minor or even more horrified if they change the ending! 😆

And YA is a good choice if you had to stick to one genre! It has really come a long way and evolved into something so diverse! 🤩

Also to pingback someone, just put some words and link the words to a *post* on their site. (I’m not sure if ping backs work with pages) Then it will appear in the comments of the post after they approve it (if their settings need approval). Hope this helps! Don’t worry my first tag I was also extremely confused! 🤪

    1. thank you, thank you! Plus, I think my pride is out the Milky Way already, I just hope it gets back!😆
Totally agree with you on the adaptations part–why can’t they just follow the book?! And sometimes the cast is also not that good, they often don’t resemble the imagined version we had of the characters!
Ikr! Also, YA has a lot of variety, you could go for romance, mystery, and oh so much more!
As for the pingback, I’d like to thank two people—the Google and You. Thank you! That really helped!
Ah, this is some confusing business but then again, it’s fun too!
Really glad you enjoyed the post! Thanks!

      1. Haha! 😂
        Yeah exactly ahhhhh!!

Indeed YA is everything squished into one, I would be content reading it for my whole life too.

No worries, glad I helped! 😊 Yeah, the tech stuff to book blogging is so puzzling but super satisfying when you get it!
