Ooh! So basically I’m participating in a Read-a-thon, to know more, click here. And well, I just got done with the seventh book from my TBR of thirteen! The book was The Book Thief by Markus Zusak for the prompt The Story of Us: Read a book about books!

Wow. This was such a beautiful book!
The writing style of the author was poetic and kind of haunting, I fell in love with it from the very first page. The book started with so much mystery that you can’t help being sucked into it!
The plot was unique and the life of the character was laid out in front of us with perfection. And the part where our narrator is none other than Death itself is just wonderful! I liked how the character of Death of displayed to us, too. There were times when my heart got broken, then mended, then broken again, piece by piece on the same page!(Don’t I sound cheesy, now?)
I loved all the characters. All of them. I loved Rudy the moment I met him, Papa the moment he spoke his first dialogue, and I knew I was gonna love Mama the second she cursed. I loved Liesel when she stole a book, read a book, loved a book, and wrote a book. I loved how almost every character had a back story to themselves, be it mournful or happy.
Also, as you might know, I am quite obsessed with languages, and this book kind of makes me want to just learn German, and who knows I may pick it up sometimes just because of this book, so yeah, language thing also made me love this book a lot!
Oh and I absolutely loved the absolute end, the line author ended the book with, was haunting and mind blowing.
You people, if you haven’t already, I really think you must read this!

This was an amazing book, unique in many ways, especially its narration. I remember how I used to carry it in my already-too-heavy bag to school every day last year(if you’ve seen the physical size of this book you’ll realize how difficult that was😅) and used to sneak in a few pages between each class, excitedly telling my classmates about some really interesting thing that had happened in that particular page (nobody was interested of course). Ahh, those good old days!!
And I can teach you German if you want! Its my third language at school, and I’ve already passed an important course exam in 6th grade, which was actually supposed to be cleared in 9th grade (what? I like languages, age doesn’t really matter, right?) so I consider myself to be pretty fluent at it😉

And oh I kind of relate, I used to carry Breaking Dawn by Stephenie Meyer, and oh, talk about heavy big books😂
Yeah, the good old days, I wanna go to school and annoy my classmates😭
And teacher teacher, teach me German! I was gonna go for Duolingo, but I’m quite bad at following schedules, and trust me on this Duolingo could be rude when you don’t attend classes, I blocked it’s mails tbh😂
And oof, ain’t I jealous here!😕😁

I know, I had used Duolingo a couple years back, but left it when it became an increasingly annoying tutor😀

Yesss, I’m so happy you also loved this one! 🤗😍 I absolutely adored Death as a narrator (Is that weird?), and by the end, I was an emotional wreck…

This is one of my favourite books!! Although it’s a bit slow…I really liked it. It was a bit hard for me… because I am not good with slow books…but yeah..this was great.💞📚

WOHOO I’M SO GLAD YOU LOVED THIS BOOK TICTION! THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST YA HIST FICS in my opinion haha… indeed, the writing style was beautiful and no, you don’t sound cheesy because my heart was going through the exact same trauma too ahhh

Im sorry to bring you bad news but I didn’t really understand the book at all! 😬
I know im gonna get so much hate for this. I have however, watched the movie and did enjoy it. I was surprised as i prefer books over movies any day but this didn’t do any justice 😖

Ahh, I get it! No problem!
Although the book was near perfection for me, I loved it mostly because of the writing style, I’m a fan of figurative writing, the fact that the narrator was Death, and that I learned a bit of German(tho I shouldn’t be proud, I learned mostly curses😂)
